Watson’s Theory feat. Mecca Notes
Watson's Theory is the project of New Orleans drummer, bandleader, and educator Jermal Watson, whose career began in church at age six and has since taken him across the world as a performer and clinician. Watson studied under some of the city's most respected rhythm masters, including Russell Batiste of the Funky Meters, and has built a reputation for crossing the boundaries of gospel, jazz, R&B, and funk with a versatility that keeps him in constant demand on the New Orleans scene.
Joining Watson is featured vocalist Mecca Notes, a New Orleans-based singer, journalist, and educator of Nigerian and New Orleanian heritage. Known for her work with the Brass-A-Holics and as curator of the Jammin' Session series, Mecca Notes brings a rich, expressive voice and a deep connection to the city's musical community.
