Vibe with Ayanna & Zahria brings together sound curator and DJ Ayanna Cooper Vasquez and saxophonist and bandleader Zahria Sims for a live collaboration that sits at the intersection of house music and jazz. Ayanna is a New Orleans and Milwaukee-based DJ whose sets draw from house, disco, Afro-Latin rhythms, and globally inspired sounds, built around deep grooves and soulful, unhurried programming. Zahria Sims is a Baton Rouge native now rooted in New Orleans and founder of the Zahria Sims Collective, whose layered saxophone melodies and looped textures bring a live jazz voice to Ayanna's DJ sets. A Loyola University jazz graduate, Sims' credits include opening slots for Kenny Garrett and Arturo Sandoval, a recording with Nicholas Payton, and a 2025 debut EP. The two have developed their collaborative format through regular performances at 3oneone6, a creative collective and art space on St. Claude Avenue.

    Helen Gillet

    November 5 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Good Measure 600 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA, United States

Helen Gillet is a Belgian-born cellist, singer, and composer who has made New Orleans her home since 2002. She holds degrees in music and anthropology from Beloit College and a master's in music from Loyola University New Orleans, and her training under Hindustani cellist Nancy Lesh launched her into a career built around live looping, layering cello and vocal lines into a singular, genre-resistant style. She has performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Voodoo Festival, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, and has recorded with Arcade Fire, Dr. John, and Marianne Faithful. Her original score for Katrina & Beyond plays above Fats Domino's wrecked piano in a permanent exhibit at the Louisiana State Museum.

    Mahmoud Chouki

    November 6 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Good Measure 600 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA, United States

Mahmoud Chouki returns to the Good Measure stage.

A Moroccan-born master guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer who has made New Orleans his home and his sounding board. His compositions draw on an unusually wide range of traditions, Andalusian and North African music, Levantine strings, Latin American rhythms, European classical training, and New Orleans jazz, woven together into something that feels like a genuine musical dialogue rather than a fusion exercise.

Chouki serves as music curator for the New Orleans Museum of Art, where his site-specific performance series Safar explored how music can speak across cultural divides. He composed the score for Ma Belle, Ma Beauty, which won at the Sundance Film Festival, and was named Best Emerging Artist by OffBeat Magazine. As artistic director of Rencontre Orient-Occident in Switzerland, he has built a career around bringing international musicians into conversation, with New Orleans, and with each other.

Good Measure 600 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA, United States

Prolific across a wide swath of sonic topography, Detroit-raised, New Orleans-based musician Ari Teitel keeps many hot irons in his creative fire. A soulful expressionist, Ari’s guitar styles incorporate foundational influences R&B, funk, gospel, jazz, hip-hop, blues, and psychedelic rock, a greasy gumbo that coalesces with many multi-hued endeavors. A co-founder of premiere Mardi Gras Indian Funk band The Rumble feat. Chief Joseph Boudreaux, they released debut studio LP Stories From the Battlefield in 2024, and were swiftly GRAMMY nominated for the second straight year. The versatile 30-year old guitarist was recently drafted into Dumpstaphunk, the mighty Crescent City institution founded by Ivan Neville, a NOLA icon with whom Teitel has performed extensively. In May 2025, Teitel released an LP  titled Another Side of The Sound with drummer Adam Deitch (Lettuce, John Scofield) and organ master Sam Fribush (Hiss Golden Messenger) to wide acclaim.   Tonight marks the release of his new album ‘honest.’.

A student of the New Orleans music scene, Sari's interpretations shine in their playfulness and freedom. A prolific songwriter, they perform original material in their band as well as new interpretations with local greats.

Widely considered one of New Orleans' greatest rhythm sections, Vidacovich and Singleton have been the backbone of Astral Project since its inception. Aurelien Barnes

    November 20 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Good Measure 600 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA, United States

Trumpeter, vocalist, and bandleader Aurelien Barnes represents a new generation of New Orleans musicians carrying the city's brass and jazz traditions forward while expanding their reach. The son of Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes, he grew up immersed in blues, zydeco, and Afro-Caribbean music, an upbringing that shaped both his versatility and his instinct for cross-cultural musical conversation.

Mentored from an early age by some of the city's most respected voices, including Leroy Jones, Gregg Stafford, and the Treme Brass Band, Barnes has performed as a featured artist with the Preservation Hall All Stars, and has gone on to work with Grammy-nominated ensembles Cha Wa and the Rumble, as well as the Palmetto Bug Stompers and Kings of Brass. His collaborations span a wide range of artists and genres, including Nicholas Payton, Solange, Dr. John, and Carlos Vives.

A Tulane graduate fluent in French, Spanish, and Portuguese, Barnes brings an international perspective to a distinctly New Orleans sound, rooted in tradition, open to the world.
